Taipei, Taiwan Trip Day 2 (Part Two)

Read the previous Taiwan Trip post here:  ( Day 1 / Day 2 - Part One )

Let's continue from the previous post.

After our snack shopping spree at 維格餅家 Vigor Kobo, our tour guide brought us to one of the Mongolian BBQ Buffet around Taipei for lunch before setting off for an one hour bus journey to 九份老街 Jiu Fen Old Street.

I thought we get to BBQ our own food but to our dismay, we only got to choose the meat, vegetables and sauce. The chefs will "BBQ" on our behalf. Wasn't very nice. So i ate more of the buffet items.

Our tour bus wasn't allow to bring us all the way up to 九份 Jiu Fen therefore we alighted at one of the nearest bus stop to switch to the public transport. Very crowded and there was a heavy jam. The roads were steep as well. But the nice views distracted us along the way, which make the bus journey a lot better.

Say it's name OUT LOUD! (if you can read Chinese that is) A lady gave her dog a handmade name tag! SO CUTE LAH!

Finally we're HERE! It was Taiwan's Sunday that explains the crazy crowd. Our tour guide only gave us 1 hour 30 mins to shop. WHERE GOT ENOUGH?!!! Seriously i only squeezed myself through one and half of the lanes before we have to turn back to our meeting point. Sigh~

Decided to send a postcard back to myself. Typical tourist. Haha!

This caught our attention. It's called Ocarina. Sounds a little like the recorder we learn in primary school. The uncle was very nice. I asked if he can pose for me to take a picture and he really did! HAHA! Anyway he can really play nice melody from this tiny musical instrument.

Attached this Youtube video to let you peeps listen to the sound of the Ocarina. (to benefit those whom have not seen this musical instrument yet)

Too cute not to buy!

After choosing and buying our Ocarinas, we rushed to a shop named SOPHISCA to buy "Sanitary pads" candies and "Condom" chocolates and then we're back to the bus stop for our tour bus to Shi Fen!

When we reach 十分 Shih Fen, it's around 6plus 7plus but the night sky is as dark as 8plus 9! Think it's due to autumn where some countries will encounter longer nights(?)

Shih Fen train station was just nearby and because we were just beside the railway tracks so when the trains passes by every 20 mins or so, we got to stop our sky lantern activities and get off the tracks. For our 45 mins stay there, we saw TWO trains!

While waiting for one of the train to pass, we went to buy fried ice cream! Mine was chocolate flavored. Yummy! I know Singapore also have but being the mountain tortoise me, that was my first fried ice cream. I gave my "first time" to Taiwan! LOL!

SKY LANTERN!!! Yellow is for fortune wishes and i was not aware of it. So i wrote those be well, healthy and happiness.. these kind of wishes. LOL! Oh well who cares right? We also will not know where and when our lantern will drop and be eaten up buy some sheep!

Second night at 饒河街觀光夜市 Raohe Night Market AGAIN for our favourite frying milk balls, and pig blood curd. Was one of mummy and my favourite when Singapore has yet to ban pig blood.

Before we end Day 2, not forgetting to buy Taiwan's sun biscuits for our family and friends! It's 1:46am now. I am super sleepy already. Shall post Day 3 some other day. Good night everyone!
